In Christ All Shall Be Made Alive—Paul teaches about resurrection

1 Corinthians 15

In Christ All Shall Be Made Alive

Paul teaches about resurrection

Paul writing a letter to Church members in Corinth. They are gathered around a woman who has passed away.

Some members of the Church in a city called Corinth had questions about what happens after we die. They weren’t sure that Jesus had really been resurrected. Some people said that there was no resurrection. Paul heard about this and wrote a letter to the Saints in Corinth.

1 Corinthians 15:12–14

The resurrected Jesus talking with His Apostles.

Paul wrote that Jesus Christ’s Resurrection was an important part of His gospel. “Christ died for our sins,” Paul said, and “he rose again the third day.” More than 500 people had seen Him after His Resurrection, including Paul and the other Apostles.

1 Corinthians 15:1–8

Paul writing a letter; Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden; and Jesus standing near the tomb.

Paul taught that if Christ hadn’t been resurrected, we all would be sad and without hope. Because of the Fall of Adam, all of us will die, but because of Jesus Christ, we will all be resurrected too!

1 Corinthians 15:17–22

A woman being baptized.

Paul reminded the Saints in Corinth that people were being baptized for the dead. Why would we need to do that if people who had died were never going to rise again? We are baptized for the dead because we know everyone will live again. This gives them the chance to receive the Lord’s blessings.

1 Corinthians 15:29

A woman kneeling before Jesus.

Some Saints in Corinth wondered what our bodies will be like when we’re resurrected. Paul said our bodies will be glorious. They won’t be weak or get sick or grow old. Some people will have celestial bodies, bright like the sun. Others will be bright like the moon, and others will be bright like the stars.
