Tabitha, a Woman “Full of Good Works”
Brought back to life by the power of Jesus Christ
Tabitha was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. She lived in a town by the sea, called Joppa. She loved to serve and help people who were poor.
Tabitha made clothes and gave them to women in need. They loved Tabitha.
One day, Tabitha became very sick. She was so sick that she died.
The other members of the Church in Joppa were very sad. They knew that Peter, one of Jesus’s Apostles, was in a town nearby. They sent two men to ask Peter to hurry and come to them.
Peter came to where Tabitha’s body was. Some of the women Tabitha had helped were there. They showed Peter the clothes she had made for them.
Peter asked all the people to leave the room. He knelt and prayed.
After praying, Peter said, “Tabitha, arise.” She opened her eyes and sat up. Peter helped Tabitha stand. She was alive again! Peter called for her friends to come and see her. They were amazed! They knew she had been brought back to life by the power of Jesus Christ. Many more people believed in Him.
