We will be blessed as we strive to follow Christ
Being faithful to the Lord brings joy to our lives.
My wife became a member of the Church two years before me. During this time, I did receive lessons with the missionaries, but I never felt ready. I had always believed in God, but I did not want to be like Lot’s wife, looking back and regretting my decision. For me, baptism was a lifelong dedication to Christ. So, one day, while my wife was visiting the Mérida Temple, my children invited the missionaries to come over to our house. The missionaries came and taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and invited me to be baptized; I told them I needed it to ask in prayer. Little did I know that while I was praying for an answer, my wife was also praying to Heavenly Father that I may be baptized. When she came back home, a church member told her that I had taken the decision to be baptized and that the day was set aside.
It’s been twenty-two years since I decided to make this covenant with God. I became a true disciple of Christ. Since then, I have been greatly blessed. In 2017, my wife and I had an interview with President Ochoa. He told us the Lord had seen our faithfulness, and we were called to serve as a couple missionaries in the temple of Guatemala City. We delightedly accepted to serve the Lord.
Being faithful to the Lord brings joy to our lives. I know that God lives and that He loves me. As we strive to remain on the right path, we will see the blessings pouring out in our lives.
