The start of a new year often brings big changes—including possibly making a transition to a different class or quorum at church! Whether you’re leaving Primary, entering Relief Society or elders quorum, or just moving to the next Young Women class or Aaronic Priesthood quorum, here are three things to look forward to.
1. New People
It may seem scary to be in a class with people who are older than you, but you have a lot more in common than you might think. You’re all disciples of Jesus Christ who are trying to follow Him. Changing classes is an opportunity to hear new insights from people with different experiences than you—and a chance to make new friends.
2. New Activities
The Young Men and Young Women programs are fun! You may have new ways to connect with other youth, including class and quorum activities and camps. Once you’re 14, you may also have FSY conferences, dances, and seminary.
As a young adult, you can attend institute and activities planned by your Relief Society, elders quorum, or young single adult ward or gathering place.
3. New Privileges
As you get older, you have more opportunities to serve in the Church, like performing baptisms for the dead, blessing the sacrament, or fulfilling a calling (including a ministering assignment). Take advantage of these opportunities for spiritual growth and enjoy how they strengthen your connection to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the people you serve.
As you make the transition into a new class, remember that “ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). As you center your church experience around Him, He will help you find joy wherever you are.
