When I Panicked About My Future, God Helped Me
The whole world felt as if it were crashing down around me at the beginning of my senior year. Amidst college applications and scholarships, I really struggled with anxiety and overthought every decision I made. I wanted to choose the perfect path so I wouldn’t fail.
Then, at a high school basketball game, I had a panic attack. I was outside in the dark and felt like I was drowning. That moment was the scariest of my life. But Heavenly Father sent someone to help me—a military veteran who understood my situation and acted quickly upon seeing my struggle to breathe.
Afterwards, I looked for help instead of doing everything on my own. I sought out answers and comfort through scripture study and seminary attendance. I learned to feel worthy to enter the temple and receive my patriarchal blessing by focusing on my relationship with Heavenly Father.
He knows me. He sees me, and He has a plan for me and all His children. Sometimes you might be the one sobbing in the dark. But God is there. You are a beloved child of God, and He has a divine work for you to do.
