One in a Million

I am one in a million—my diagnosis of Cleidocranial dysplasia makes that clear.
Cleiodocranial dysplasia affects bone and teeth development. I have undergone five surgeries: three for scoliosis of my spine and two for correcting congenital hip dysplasia.
I didn’t understand why Heavenly Father allowed me to endure so much pain and go to the operating room so often. With my last surgeries, I was hospitalized for 23 days, and the pain was overwhelming. Despite medication, I couldn’t find rest for my body. I prayed for Heavenly Father to help me.
I received an impression from the Holy Ghost that my pain was a tiny reminder of what Jesus Christ suffered for me. Thinking about the love of Jesus Christ filled me with strength I didn’t believe I had.
I know that although things seem difficult, with a little faith and a firm testimony, we can have peace and strength as we strive to achieve the goals we have. God loves me, Jesus Christ gave His life for me, and He allows us to come out stronger after each painful experience.
