Within His Walls

The Lord declared, “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me” (Isaiah 49:16).

The phrase I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands has always strengthened my confidence in the Savior’s atoning sacrifice. It reminds me of His deep willingness and desire to help and heal me. The words thy walls are continually before me once caused me to focus more on the walls I build—doubt, fear, or sin—that prevent me from fully experiencing His love, rather than on the Savior Himself, who is full of love.

When my daughter shared her love for this scripture, my perspective shifted. She finds peace, comfort, and strength in the idea that Christ builds a wall of safety for us. Through her insight, I came to better understand the power of covenants. As we make and keep them, we choose to live within His walls of safety, peace, and healing.

Let us turn fully to Jesus Christ and come to know the joy and security of dwelling within His covenant walls.
