Hello from Norway!
Norway is a country in Northern Europe. It is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. Over 5.5 million people live there. The official languages are Norwegian and Sámi.
Midnight Sun
Parts of Norway have continuous sunlight during summer. The farther north you go, the longer the sunlight lasts. In the winter sometimes the sun remains below the horizon, making the days dark.
Reindeer
Norway is home to many reindeer. It has the largest wild reindeer herd in Europe, and over 200,000 are raised in herds on farms.
Olympic Athletes
Norwegian athletes at the Winter Olympics have won more medals than athletes from any other country.
Fabulous Fjords
Long ago, glaciers in Norway shaped long, deep U-shaped valleys called fjords. These fjords are filled with seawater and are very beautiful.
The Sámi
The Sámi are the people native to Northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and part of Russia.
