The Gospel Is About Families
President Oaks taught that families are central to the gospel of Jesus Christ. When he was a young boy, his father died. But his mother taught him the gospel, and it gave him hope and peace. Families face challenges, but we can all have hope that we can be part of an eternal family.
Draw a picture of your family.
Doing Hard Things with Christ
Elder Eyring said that when he was in college, physics and math were hard for him. He felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit. When he prayed, he felt comforted and encouraged. He learned that he could do all things through Christ, who strengthens us all (see Philippians 4:13). When we face hard times, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be with us.
Draw or write about a time you did something hard with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ’s help.
True to Your Testimony
Elder Brown shared that he joined the Church in Jamaica. His friends asked, “How could you join that church? Do you really believe all that?” But he had gained a testimony from the Holy Ghost, and he stayed true to his testimony. When we choose to believe, our testimonies will grow.
Room for a Prophet
Sister Spannaus told a Bible story about a woman who invited the prophet Elisha to eat at her home. The woman even built a room in her house so he would have a place to stay. The Holy Ghost confirmed to her that he was a prophet of God. We too can have a testimony of God’s prophets. We can open our hearts and obey their direction.
The Power of Primary Songs
Sister Browning spoke about the importance of Primary songs. She said that music is a tool that can help plant seeds of testimony in our hearts. When we sing Primary songs, we are singing our testimonies of the restored gospel. Jesus really does want us for a sunbeam!
