Costa Rica has more than 760 miles (1,220 km) of coastline. There are also about 600 white and black sand beaches along the coast!
Mystery Stones
The ancient Diquís people of Costa Rica created these stone balls. We still don’t know why they were made or how they were used. What do you think?
Two Seasons
There are two seasons in Costa Rica—the dry season and the wet season. It’s usually dry from December until April and rainy the rest of the year.
National Animal
In 2021 the sloth was named the national animal of Costa Rica. Other fun animals there include whales, dolphins, manatees, toucans, and tapirs!
Independence Day
Costa Rica’s Independence Day is on September 15. Children are an important part of the celebrations. They dance and carry lanterns in the parades.
