About This Issue
This Month’s Theme: Focusing Your Life on Jesus Christ
Merry Christmas, friends!
As a young single adult, my life is full of intense decisions and experiences. I expect that you—our dear readers—may be in similar situations.
Early adulthood can feature a host of major life events: moving out of your family home, learning how to manage finances, pursuing education, dating, entering the workforce, establishing a healthy marriage, becoming a parent, and so much more.
Luckily, we’ve recently received a lot of prophetic counsel that can help us manage our expectations and to-do lists when life gets overwhelming. Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared a message that truly reframed how I balance my life: “Whatever is on your to-do list, give equal time, not spare time, to the Lord.”
This Christmas season, we wanted to remind you of the profound love and awareness that the Savior has for you. We created this issue of YA Weekly to help you center your life on the Savior. When you focus on Him, you will feel His love and guidance as you navigate young adulthood.
Here are some of the articles you can expect from young adults around the world this month:
-
What we can do to celebrate Christ all year long
-
How we can welcome stillness during a chaotic Christmas season
-
Why we should rely on Christ’s light in our daily lives
We also have stories that are part of our ongoing series:
-
Life Skills: A young adult shares her tips for lessening screen time in your life—and the blessings that can come from it.
-
Especially for Newlyweds: A married young adult discusses how she stepped into her role as a spouse by developing a culture focused on Christ.
-
From the Mission Field: How one young adult’s missionary service taught him about the joy of Christmas
Remember, the Christmas season is about more than just the miracle of Christ’s birth—it’s also about the miracle of His life and light, which we can all invite into our own lives every day of the year.
With love,
Maddy Poll, YA Weekly Editorial Intern
