Felicia Manu: From Side Hustle to Success

Meet Felicia Manu, a young single adult from the Oyarifa Ward in the Accra Ghana Adenta Stake, whose belief that effort leads to success has been exemplified in her life decisions.

From childhood, she witnessed the blessings of self-reliance as her parents worked side by side to build a business. Their example gave her a strong work ethic and sense of leadership as the oldest of four daughters.

After graduating from the University of Ghana with a degree in linguistics and geography, Felicia discovered the challenges of the current job market. To support herself, she turned to tutoring—a side hustle that soon became her calling.

Her passion grew while helping at a children’s reading club. Though it paid little, it ignited her love for teaching. Determined to improve, she studied, attended workshops, and practiced new skills. Over time, her reputation spread, families sought her out, and her side hustle grew into a thriving tutoring business. Guided by faith and inspired by her parents, she completed the Church’s Starting and Growing My Business self-reliance course, registered her company in July 2025, and hired two part-time employees. “My business did not appear overnight; I had to keep learning and pushing forward every day,” she says.

Today, her company Peakminds Educational Consultancy offers home tutoring services across all subjects, including French. She finds joy not only in running her business but in seeing her students succeed. She remembers when her vision for her future started to change and reflects, “I’m grateful Heavenly Father blessed me to recognize my talents and see my passion. I love teaching!”

Beyond business, Felicia has served in the Church, most recently as assistant coordinator for the 2025 FSY conference. A colleague noted, “People are drawn to her because of her outgoing confidence and joyful spirit.” In the future, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in educational psychology.

Felicia’s story is one of resilience, faith, and vision. From side-hustle tutor to entrepreneur and mentor, she is a living example that faith and effort open the door to success.
