Episode 34: Endowed with Power

The Nauvoo Charter is repealed, leaving the Saints with no official government or police force. Sidney Rigdon is excommunicated. Faced with uncertainty, Saints receive direction from the Lord through Brigham Young: “Stay and finish the temple.” Brigham promises that no Saint who wants to move west will be left behind. Reid Neilson, Assistant Church Historian and Recorder, joins our discussion.
