Rainy Day
April 1994

“Rainy Day,” Friend, Apr. 1994, 47

Rainy Day

By Maureen C. Meadows

I wore my yellow waterproof,

And rain boots on my feet.

The traffic lights made rainbows shine

In puddles on the street.

The rain hung little silver drops

In green boughs overhead.

Umbrellas bounced like big balloons

Of orange, blue, and red.

And even though the sky was gray,

It really was a pretty day.
