Rabbit Talk

By Bob Messano

I wonder if the rabbits talk

Beneath the winter moon.

I wonder if they dance and sing

To secret rabbit tunes.

I wonder if their hidden holes

Are filled with rabbit toys.

I wonder who tells stories

To rabbit girls and boys.

I think that I hear laughter

As the chilly north wind blows—

And how I wish that I could be

A rabbit when it snows!
