Our Welcome Visitor

By Helena K. Stefanski

I needn’t look for further proof

That a little bird walked on our roof.

His snowy tracks are plain and clear

Until they stop and disappear

Above the eaves of our back door.

He’s made his tiny trails before—

It’s his way of reminding me

To leave bread crumbs for Chickadee.
