Remembering President Jeffrey R. Holland
He was born on December 3, 1940, in Utah, USA.
He loved sports. In school he was on the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams.
When he was young, he worked as a newspaper carrier, a grocery bagger, and a gas station attendant.
His future wife, Patricia Terry, encouraged him to serve a mission. He decided to go! He served in England.
He and Patricia were married in the St. George Utah Temple in 1963. They had 3 children.
Before he was an Apostle, he taught religion classes. Later, he became president of BYU.
He loved reading. He made time to study the scriptures every day.
He encouraged members to not give up and to trust in God.
