Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints first arrived in Ecuador in October 1965, and the first converts were baptized at the end of that month. A branch was organized in 1966, and the first stake was organized in 1978. Church members in Ecuador have served each other and their communities in response to natural disasters and other challenges. Today, the Church in Ecuador has:

  • 264,800 members (approximately)

  • 44 stakes, 327 wards and branches, 6 missions

  • 2 temples (Guayaquil and Quito)

Peace in Christ

Alejandro Tersek (above, left) from the Machala Ecuador Stake says, “We try to keep our lives centered on the Savior. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought us a peace like nothing else in this world can give us.”
