What Do We Do in the Temple?
Why do prophets talk about the temple so much? It’s not just a pretty building. The temple is God’s holy house. Inside, we make promises with God and receive His special blessings. We do the same thing for our family members who have passed away. The temple is also a special place where you can feel the Holy Ghost and find peace and joy.
Here are some experiences you will have in the temple someday!
Temple Baptisms and Confirmations
Jesus Christ taught that we need to be baptized to live with God again (see John 3:5). If a person dies without being baptized, someone can be baptized and confirmed for them in the temple. The person who died can choose to accept the ordinances, join the Lord’s Church, and receive the Holy Ghost. You can do temple baptisms and confirmations the year you turn 12.
The Endowment
During the endowment, you will learn about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ’s plan of salvation. You will make promises to follow Jesus Christ and keep His commandments. When you make promises with God, He promises you special blessings. What an amazing gift!
The Sealing
In the temple sealing, families are promised that they can be together forever. If we obey God, we can live with our family again after we die.
