Hello from South Africa!
South Africa is a country on the southern tip of Africa. Over 60 million people live there. This country has 12 official languages.
Bloukrans Bridge
This is currently the highest bridge in Africa! It was completed in 1983 and stands about 708 feet (216 m) above the river.
Cango Caves
The Cango Caves were discovered by a farmer in 1780. The caves and chambers were created by water wearing down the limestone rock for a long time.
The African Penguin
These penguins live on South Africa’s coast. Each penguin has a patch of pink skin above their eye that helps them cool down when it gets hot outside.
Sardine Swim
Millions of sardines migrate together along South Africa’s coast during Africa’s winter here from about May to July. The group of fish can be 4 miles (7 km) long!
Blue Crane
The blue crane is South Africa’s national bird. The largest group of blue cranes in the world lives here!
