Holiness
Holiness means being holy or sacred. We strive for holiness by following the commandments and keeping the covenants (or promises) we make with God. The words “Holiness to the Lord—the House of the Lord” are at the entrance of every temple.
Sealing
The word sealing means joining a man and a woman and their children for eternity. This means that they can be together forever in heaven someday. A sealing is an ordinance that happens in the temple.
Baptisms for the Dead
Many people have died without learning about Jesus Christ and being baptized in His Church. When we do baptisms for the dead in the temple, we dress in white just like when we were baptized. But instead of being baptized for ourselves, we are baptized in place of someone who has died. That person’s name will be said in the baptism prayer, and they will have the opportunity to accept the blessing of baptism.
True Identity
Our true identity is who we really are. We are all beloved spirit children of our heavenly parents. By following God’s plan, we can learn, grow, and become like our Savior, Jesus Christ.
