A Chat with Phanon and Phawin about Prayer
Phanon and Phawin are brothers from Chiang Mai, Thailand. We asked them some questions about prayer.
Tell us about yourselves.
Phanon: I am 10 years old. I like to play chess and build things with plastic blocks. My favorite thing is reading. I like to read books and the Friend magazine.
Phawin: I’m 8, and I like playing soccer in front of our home. I also like building things with plastic blocks. I love to make people laugh.
Can you tell us about a time when Heavenly Father answered your prayers?
Phanon: I struggle to stay focused when I study, so I pray to be able to focus better at school. When I had an academic competition, I was very worried about the exam. So I prayed, and I ended up doing well in the competition. I felt blessed by Heavenly Father.
Phawin: One time I lost my favorite toy. I prayed at night to be able to find it. The next day my brother told me to check to see if the toy had fallen behind the toy cabinet. Then I found it! I felt happy that our Father in Heaven answered my prayer. Sometimes answers come quickly, and sometimes they come slowly. But He will always answer.
Why is prayer important to you?
Phawin: Praying is how we can thank Heavenly Father. We can also ask for help to receive blessings.
Phanon: Praying every day is one way I keep my covenants with Heavenly Father. I know I can pray anywhere at any time. When I pray, I feel Heavenly Father’s love.
