Mother’s-Day Thanks

My mom, who was passing

Some peppermints out,

Said, “Think of some things

To be thankful about.”

Well, … ice cream and turtles,

Flowers and lunch,

Puppies and sunshine—

I thought of a bunch.

Happy on Sunday,

All peaceful and calm,

I’m thankful for everything,

’Specially my mom!
