December

This is the month

of snow and sleet

and icicle-trees

along my street.

The wind comes in

like a howling bear

and nips at the furry

suit I wear.

I skate on the ponds

and ski down the hills

and warm away

the shivers and chills,

while counting the weeks

and then each day

till a merry Christmas

comes my way.
