Old Salt

By Ethel Jacobson

I do love a boat—

Most any boat

That bobs on the water

And stays afloat:

A liner that steams

Across wide seas,

A sailboat that races

Before the breeze,

But especially

(Though it may be slower)

A little boat

Where I’m the rower!
