“Sun on the Snow,” Friend, Jan. 1983, 44

Sun on the Snow

By Sandra Liatsos

I’m standing on electric land

Lit up and full of shine.

I see no volt or wire;

This power’s crystalline,

As though a row of chandeliers

Had shattered in the sky,

Their fragments fallen on the ground

To dazzle every eye.
