這條希望之路就是那條許多離開納府展開西遷旅程的後期聖徒所走的同一條路。這條小路凸顯平凡人的信心，他們忠信地跟隨十二使徒定額組，前往大鹽湖谷（今日的美國猶他州）去過新生活。

1846年2月4日，第一批篷車隊離開納府，沿著帕雷街（Parley Street）前往密西西比河河畔，在那裡有渡船可以帶他們渡河進入愛阿華領地。聖徒們繼續沿著這同一條路離開納府，直到那年的9月。

在這八個月中，有超過14,000名後期聖徒離開了納府。他們前往未知的地方，必須信賴領袖的指引。許多人把自己離開納府的經歷記錄在日記裡，也有人在多年後還在回想離開時的情形。1867年7月21日，在猶他州鹽湖城的一場講道中，使徒喬治·肯農宣告：「人們需要有極大的信心，才能冒險進入一片尚未開發的荒漠國土，去再度嘗試建立家園，並完成神，我們的天父，託付我們的工作。」

「希望之路」是先驅者之路中一個自助體驗項目。歡迎你在這條小路上漫步，閱讀沿途的解說牌。如果你沿著「希望之路」走，最後會到達密西西比河，以及先驅者紀念館和邁向偉大紀念碑。

在夏季的月份，演員們會在沿著「希望之路」進行的晚間表演中，將過去的先驅者活現眼前。
