James A. Garfield National Historic Site

James A. Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, spent most of his life in northeast Ohio. In the summer of 1880, from his farm he led his presidential candidate front-porch campaign. After he was assassinated the president was brought back to northeast Ohio and buried at the Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.

The Oliver and Rosetta Snow home in Mantua, Ohio, was the birthplace of Lorenzo Snow, who would become the fifth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His sister, Eliza R. Snow, would become the second General President of the Relief Society.
