- Invite a group member to offer a prayer.
- Share a brief spiritual thought such as a favorite scripture, a personal experience related to a quote from a general conference talk, or testify of truths contained in another gospel resource.

Variety Show
2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.It’s time to amaze everyone during the “Variety Show!” You can try out earlier in the week to perform an original act, or you can cheer your peers on from the audience. The show will feature a range of performances, so the more variety brought to the show, the more likely you’ll be selected. Auditions are scheduled in the afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday. Information regarding the time and location of tryouts will be available at check-in and from your counselor.
The “Variety Show” has a few rules that must be followed for your act to be considered. If you have questions about any of the rules, your counselor should be able to help. These are the rules:
Music and Dance
- Acts must not contain suggestive movements. For safety, lifting and acrobatic movements are not allowed.
- Choose music for your act (piano, vocal performance, background music, and so on) that is uplifting. Avoid media that mocks sacred things, is immoral, or references violence.
- Because we want to respect the reverence of Church music, please do not audition with Church-related musical numbers or scriptures.
- Strive for content that is entertaining, yet wholesome and uplifting.
- Food or liquid of any kind may not be used, including toothpaste.
- Wear the costumes you plan to wear for the “Variety Show” to the dress rehearsal. No pajamas, please.
- Choose outfits for your performance that show respect for your body. Ask yourself, “Am I honoring my body as a sacred gift from God?”

- Sit with your company.
- Cheer for each act.
- Be supportive and respectful of each participant and performance.
- Instead of clapping along with the music, snap fingers. Snapping allows everyone to continue to hear the performer.
- Have fun!
