FSY Friday Schedule

Participant Devotional

7:20 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Participant Devotional is the perfect way to start your day. One or two group members can volunteer to lead a counselor group devotional each morning to set the tone for the day. If you volunteer to lead, you’ll be asked to do the following:
  • Select a hymn to sing together as a group.
  • Invite a group member to offer a prayer.
  • Share a brief spiritual thought such as a favorite scripture, a personal experience related to a quote from a general conference talk, or testify of truths contained in another gospel resource.
Your counselor will also use this time for any announcements and a review of the schedule.

Breakfast

(may be swapped with Gospel Study)
7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Mealtimes allow youth and counselors to relax, enjoy some food, and bond with each other.

Gospel Study

(may be swapped with Breakfast)
8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Each morning you’ll have scheduled time for personal gospel study. Your counselor will briefly teach essential study skills, allowing you time to dive into your scriptures or other gospel resources for a personal experience. Afterwards, you’ll share insights from your study with your company. Through this process you’ll develop a love for the scriptures, recognize how they will bless your life, and establish a daily study habit.

Morning Devotional

9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Morning Devotionals provide an opportunity for your session to gather and learn about the annual youth theme. Your session advisers will deliver inspired and uplifting messages each morning. During these devotionals take notes, reflect on your thoughts and feelings, and seek personal revelation.

Sharing the Gospel Activity

10:45 a.m. to noon

Come to understand the importance of accepting President Russell M Nelson’s invitation from the Lord to gather Israel on both sides of the veil, by accepting his invitation “to enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord” (“Hope of Israel,” worldwide youth devotional, June 3, 2018, Gospel Library). You have an important work to do, and the “Sharing the Gospel Activity” will help you know how to fulfill your responsibility.

These fun, interactive activities will help you discover how the past has shaped you, share genuine love through ministering and missionary efforts in the present, and shape the future by accepting the Lord’s invitation to gather Israel. You will have the opportunity to commit to actions that will help in the Lord’s work.

#ShareGoodness Discussion

noon to 12:30 p.m.

After a few days of implementing your “Taking Charge of Technology” plan, this discussion gives you a chance to reflect on your experience. You’ll talk with your company about how you can continue to share goodness online after FSY. Then, you’ll create a video with your company to share what you’ve learned at FSY.

Lunch

12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mealtimes allow youth and counselors to relax, enjoy some food, and bond with each other.

Taking It Home Showcase and Slide Show

1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Get ready for a memorable recap on the big screen, with the session slideshow featuring snapshots of the week’s best moments. It’s a celebration of your time together, and a chance to reflect on what you’ve learned from each activity.

Goal Setting Review

3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

It’s time to celebrate your accomplishments and plan your next steps! During Goal Setting Review, you’ll revisit the goals you made at Home Evening Goal Setting. During this time, you can recognize the impact of setting goals, reflect on what you’ve learned, celebrate your growth, and prepare to continue your progress after you return home.

Time for flex time! Youth can participate in on-campus activities and take time to pack their belongings, preparing for check out on Saturday morning.

Mealtimes allow youth and counselors to relax, enjoy some food, and bond with each other.

While your FSY experience may conclude, your spiritual journey is just beginning. Company Taking It Home prepares you to carry that momentum forward. Together you’ll reflect on the week’s experiences and embrace the invitation to “Do and Become.” You’ll come to understand that the “It” in Taking It Home refers to the gospel principles you have come to better understand while at FSY as well as setting personal goals in four areas of focus (social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual). Both will help you fortify your lifelong commitment to Jesus Christ.

Quiet Time

Youth will use this time to get ready for bed and relax. They’re free to visit friends in the same hall, but no hopping to other floors.

Bed time! Counselors will stick around to check if participants are in their beds with lights off, starting to fall asleep.
