FSY Conference Accessibility
For dietary, disability, medical, and other needs
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors FSY conferences to help youth strengthen their testimonies of the Savior Jesus Christ and have opportunities to meet new people, develop friendships, and make positive changes in their lives. The Church wants to make an FSY conference experience available to as many youth as is reasonably possible.
FSY conferences are five-day programs for youth turning 14 to 18. The conference is held at a host university or college campus or other location, each with its own independently established legal and safety requirements beyond those imposed by the Church. Youth stay overnight in campus housing with roommates of the same biological sex, away from parents and local ward and stake leaders. Each session generally has between 150 and 1,500 youth who participate in gospel-centered activities. In-person FSY may not work for everyone, so in many places other options are available, including virtual FSY or in-person FSY without staying overnight.
FSY conferences can be physically, mentally, behaviorally, and emotionally demanding. FSY activities include indoor and outdoor presentations, personal study, group activities, outdoor games, and dancing. At some campuses, the walking distance to and from activity locations is long (potentially up to two miles). See the
Young adult counselors work with approximately 10 youth and are trained in FSY program activities and youth protection principles. FSY staff, including wellness coordinators, are not trained or qualified to provide assistance in holding or administering prescription medication; giving reminders about taking medication; addressing mental, emotional, or behavioral conditions; or fulfilling the basic personal needs of participants at an in-person FSY session, such as dressing, grooming, toileting, showering, or feeding. FSY staff are not permitted to provide one-on-one support for youth regarding medical, mental, or behavioral health needs. For youth who need assistance beyond what is available at in-person FSY sessions, please see the

See the instructions below for how to request each accommodation listed. Submitting a request does not guarantee that it will be approved or that the accommodation will be provided, as each request is evaluated based on campus, staffing, program, and other limitations. You can submit your request during preregistration or registration. If the need arises or changes after you have registered, please go to your FSY Dashboard and select the appropriate section to make changes to the account. Please also email FSYAccommodations@ChurchofJesusChrist.org to alert us of the new request. Unless otherwise noted below, requests should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the start of your session to ensure that your request can be reviewed in time to plan and arrange for an accommodation.

When you preregister or register, please complete the “Dietary Needs and Food Allergies” section under the Medical Information header to request special meals. Please note that third-party host campuses provide the meals at FSY sessions. Failure to make a timely request for a dietary accommodation may prevent FSY and the campus from being able to grant the accommodation.

We strive to make reasonable accommodations with respect to dietary, disability, medical, and other needs. However, because the majority of FSY staff are young-adult, summer-seasonal staff and are not trained professionals, it is possible that an accommodation reasonable in other settings may not be reasonable for your participation in FSY.
Please note that the Church provides many additional opportunities for spiritual growth that may better serve your individual needs in the event that an accommodation cannot be made for you to attend FSY. You can learn more about Church youth programminghere . The Church also has a disability resources page.
