Hope

by Traci Ann Hogan

Gray skies make

Magnificent sunsets

Ginger-cinnamon spark

Oaks in the sea

Of red leaves

Rustle in breezes that bite.

Golden hues mist the air

Young scholar’s laugh

Tickles the syncopated squeak

Of wipers on the bus.
