In 2001, Erik Weihenmayer reached the summit of Mount Everest. While many had accomplished the feat before him, something made his climb unique. Erik is blind.
Erik was able to complete the climb because he knew that he could trust his expert team to guide him. During easy parts of the climb, Erik relied on a bell strapped to a fellow climber in front of him. During challenging parts of the climb, guides directed him where to place his foot for each step.
As we navigate the challenges of our lives, we can trust in Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Their chosen servants to guide us. The scriptures have many stories about people who trusted in God and acted with faith in Jesus Christ to accomplish amazing things.
Lesson Purpose: To help you trust God and act with faith in Jesus Christ as you seek answers to your gospel questions.

While scripture stories often include dramatic acts of faith, there are many simple ways to access God’s power by acting in faith.
Elder Adrián Ochoa of the Seventy taught:
If you look back on your life, I believe you will see that you have exercised faith many times. Joining the Church is an act of faith. Speaking with Heavenly Father in prayer is an act of faith. Reading the scriptures is an act of faith. Listening to my message in this general conference is an act of faith. As President Russell M. Nelson has said, “Do not minimize the faith you already have.” (“Is the Plan Working?,” Liahona, May 2022, 47)
