Priesthood
The priesthood is God’s authority and power that He gives us to help do His work on the earth.
Covenant
A covenant is a promise we make with Heavenly Father to obey His commandments. When we make and keep covenants, Heavenly Father blesses us.
Baptism
When you are baptized, you make a covenant with God. You promise that you are willing to take Jesus Christ’s name upon you, keep God’s commandments, and always serve Him. A priesthood holder says a special prayer, dips you completely under the water, and brings you back up. This represents leaving your sins behind and being born again as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Confirmation
After you are baptized, a priesthood holder confirms you a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You also receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, which means that the Holy Ghost can always be with you.
Jesus Christ’s Atonement
Jesus Christ’s Atonement is the sacrifice He made for us. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He suffered for our sins and felt all our pain. He died on the cross. Then He rose from the dead. Because of Jesus Christ, we can all repent and be forgiven of our sins.
