Snoo’s Zoo
June 1988

“Snoo’s Zoo,” Friend, June 1988, 20–21

Snoo’s Zoo

By Susan Katz

There once was a SNOO

Who invented a zoo

Where all of the creatures were rare.

The green TIPAROO,

The TICKLE-ME-TOO,

The whale-whiskered WHOMPUS were there

With the red-freckled CLAKE,

The wild KITTIWAKE,

And all of the FISH-OF-THE-AIR.

It seemed to this SNOO

That his preposterous zoo

Held the fairest of the fair.

As long as he slept,

They whickered and leapt,

But when he awoke, they weren’t there!
