Jacob tells of a man and his vineyard. The man plants wild and tame olive tree branches and clears branches that produced wild fruit, leaving only good fruit behind.  

Jacob Teaches the Allegory of the Olive Tree

Jacob Chapter 5 sees the Lord of the vineyard encountering for the first time the tame olive tree that grew to decay. He saves tender branches and grafts them to wild trees to be natural and preserved.

The Lord and servant of the vineyard see wild branches bring tame fruit from natural roots. The nethermost parts of the vineyard in poor spots are nourished longer and not yet cast into the fire.

The Lord and servant labor to layup fruit for the end that soon comes. The Lord grieves that roots are overrun by evil fruit and corrupted, notwithstanding their care. They spare it a little longer.

The Lord takes branches planted from the nethermost parts of his vineyard and grafts them to their mother tree and roots that are yet alive. They become sufficiently strong as good overcomes evil.
