Rules and Principles

Principles help us to maximize our agency and growth, but when we need a little more direction, rules can be helpful and offer guidance. As Elder Callister put it, “Our constant focus should be to teach doctrinal principles. Why? Because principles have the greatest capacity to lift us to celestial heights, and in the end, principles—not rules—will govern in the celestial kingdom.”
