Rules

Eligibility and General Rules

  • Open to all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Africa and Europe; in addition, anyone in those areas, including those who are not Church members, may submit a paper for the Academic Research Article category. Participants under the age of 18 by the final day of submission, June 30, 2026, must submit via their parent, legal guardian, or teacher and must include signed permission to enter.
  • Submissions are limited to one entry per category person; note that a person may win in a maximum of one category.
  • Submissions may be in any language. Use the language in which you are best able to express yourself.
  • The final submission must not have been previously published.
  • We welcome a variety of storytelling and historical traditions. Submissions must be submitted as a shared link (with public access) or in the following formats: print or manuscript (.docx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .jpg), audio (.mp3, .wav, .aif), or video (.mp4, .mov). If submitting via YouTube, use an unlisted link. Please submit your entry here.
  • This contest excludes visual art and sculpture (though text may be accompanied by illustrations or photos, and art submissions are welcomed for the International Art Competition held every three years).
  • Submissions must adhere to the length guidelines relevant to each of the four competition categories.
  • Entrants for this Global Church History Competition must be from Africa or Europe.
