If a member needs help subscribing to the print magazine, a leader can help by subscribing on behalf of a member in their unit, at their request, using Leader and Clerk Resources.
Unit leaders may wish for every member in their unit to receive a print magazine in their homes; however, some households may not wish to receive a print subscription and others may benefit more from using the digital versions. Unit leaders should not subscribe on behalf of households who have not asked for subscriptions. However, unit leaders should encourage individuals to get Church magazines however it best meets the individual’s needs. This may be in print or it may be in digital formats in the Gospel Library app or on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
Unit leaders should also be made aware of the opportunity to “provide ongoing subscriptions to all children and youth who attend church without a parent or guardian” (General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 38.8.7, Gospel Library). These children and youth are prime examples of individuals who will be blessed by the no-cost magazines initiative. With a parent or guardian’s permission, a unit leader can subscribe to magazines on behalf of children and youth in Leader and Clerk Resources.
