FSY Monday Schedule

Participant Check-in

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Welcome to FSY! Check-in is your first activity of the FSY experience. FSY counselors will guide you to the check-in location. There, you’ll receive your room assignment, key, and FSY materials (handbook, cinch bag, t-shirt, wristband, and ID card). Once you head to the dorm rooms, you’ll be able to unpack and get settled in your room until the next activity.Your FSY check-in details are listed in the registration email and on the Session Information page found at the bottom of your FSY Dashboard. FSY staff will be available to answer questions or address concerns from parents or youth regarding their time at FSY.

Meet Your Counselor

1:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Do you have questions about FSY? Are you nervous about meeting your group? During “Meet your Counselor”, your counselor will:
  • Introduce themselves
  • Outline rules and expectations
  • Highlight opportunities and experiences
  • Provide time to get to know you and other youth
Your counselor will guide you throughout FSY, lead activities, address concerns, facilitate gospel study, and share their love of the Savior. Your counselor group for the week will include around ten other youth of the same gender.

Meet Your Company

2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

At your first company meeting, you’ll get to know fellow members through games and learn your company name, scripture, and chant. You’ll belong to a company of two to three counselor groups, consisting of both young men and young women. You might not know these other youth now, but by the end of the week you’ll become the best of friends.

Orientation

3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

After check-in and meeting your counselor group and company, it’s time to be introduced to the session adviser and staff. Get ready to cheer as you learn about the exciting activities planned for the week during orientation. You’ll be surrounded by youth who are also anticipating the week’s social events and spiritual opportunities.

Dinner

4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mealtimes allow youth and counselors to relax, enjoy some food, and bond with each other.

Home Evening Lesson

6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

We have been counseled to hold home evening with our families and now you’ll get to experience home evening with your new friends. The session advisor will introduce the FSY theme and you’ll learn to follow the prophet’s counsel and apply gospel principles.

Need a kick-start to set yourself up for a successful week at FSY? During “Home Evening Goal Setting,” you’ll create new goals using four areas of focus (social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical). Setting goals provides direction, helps you make wise choices, and helps you reach your eternal destination. Your counselor will assist with setting company and personal goals that promote unity, service, and spiritual growth.

Home Evening Games

7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Home evening night isn’t complete without a game or two. It’s a chance to bond with other youth, step out of your comfort zone, make friends, and have fun physically and socially. You’ll test your gospel application skills by identifying gospel principles from each game.

Reflect and Review

9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

“Reflect and Review” is a vital part of your FSY experience. Each night, you’ll gather with your counselor group before going to bed to:
  • Reflect on what you’ve learned from speakers or activities.
  • Ponder and recognize what Heavenly Father is teaching you individually.
  • Write down your thoughts.
  • Share with the group experiences you are comfortable sharing.
After completing the review portion, you will write down, or possibly share aloud, what you are going to do differently moving forward.

Quiet Time

9:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Youth will use this time to get ready for bed and relax. They’re free to visit friends in the same hall, but no hopping to other floors.

Lights Out

10:30 p.m.

Bedtime! Counselors will stick around to check if participants are in their beds with lights off, starting to fall asleep.
